Aidan Quinn stars as the shipwrecked slave trader of the title in this adaptation of Daniel Defoe's classic novel "Robinson Crusoe." Stranded on a desert island populated by bellicose natives, the cocksure Robinson overcomes his loneliness and isolation in an evolving relationship with a black warrior (Ade Sapara). Cinematographer-turned-director Caleb Deschanel's beautifully photographed film was shot on location in the Seychelles. |
