Terrifying beyond a reasonable doubt.

Gary Oldman delivers a "tour-de-force performance" (The Washington Post) and Kevin Bacon "is very effective" (Roger Ebert) in this cunning, high-stakes thriller that'll keep you guessing until the very end!

Oldman portrays slick Boston attorney Ben Chase, whose career gets an upward surge when he successfully defends blueblood Martin Thiel (Bacon) during a well-publicized murder trial. But when he realized that Thiel is the exacting, vicious serial killer he was accused of being, Chase is torn between professional responsibility and his own conscience. Hoping to snare the egotistical killer in a misstep, Chase engages in a tense game of cat-and-mouse and Thiel, blurring the lines between right and wrong, victim and villain, and fascination and repulsion.
